Teacher of the Month
Give us your teaching ideas for using a classroom newspaper!
How to enter:
- Click Here to submit idea for classroom newspaper use.
- You may submit 1 curriculum idea per month and previous winners are ineligible.
Winner receives:
- Classroom visit from NIE staff with refreshments for students
- $100 Cash Award and certificate of achievement for teacher
- Framed certificate of Teacher’s achievement for Principal/School
- Lesson plan added to our Lesson Plan Wizard with teacher picture on website.
- Teacher’s picture published in monthly Review-Journal Thank you ad.

Teacher of the Year
Students! Let us know why your teacher deserves to be
the NIE/Wendy’s Teacher of the Year.
How to enter:
- Students are to write an essay on why they believe their teacher deserves to be teacher
of the year.
- Essays should comment on how the teacher’s use of the newspaper in the classroom
helped the student’s learning.
- Each entry must have name of student, teacher, school, grade and school phone number or
entry will not be considered.
- Essays must be only one page in length and will not be returned.
- Essays due at the Review-Journal TBA.
- Only teachers who received NIE papers during the school year are eligible.
- Winner will be announced during National Teacher Appreciation Week
- Essays may be faxed to LVRJ- NIE at 702-382-0673 or mailed to:
